Screaming whispers
They scream at me in whispers.
They cry at me in dreams.
They hold me hostage in my sleep.
They stalk my conscious thought.
They are too small to control me,
But too big to ignore.
They scream in silence,
But whisper their screams.
They extinguish the fire,
But light the flames.
They keep me awake
While I am asleep.
They feed my hunger
With an empty bowl.
They cover my body
With only a thread
They make no sound,
But scream for help.
They stab my heart,
But I do not bleed.
They give me the placebo
I need to survive.
They show me the light
Yet it is black.
They know I am dead
Yet they try and kill me.
