Doubt
I watch as you surround yourself with a wall of self -doubt
Entrenched in the visions of the past
In twilight gardens and enchanted woods I want to lead you
To erase the fears and sooth the uncertainty
Walk past the history of by-gone days
Listen to the words that fall from my lips
Embrace the deeds done in your name
I light a cigarette and watch the smoke dance patterns in the air
Graceful as you enter a room and my eyes follow
Entranced by your presence powerless to speak expect in mumbled words
Lost in words that roll around my mind that then overpower
Believe the world is yours to have
From afar I want to walk towards you
No fear enters the heart
Dark streets become a familiar companion
Under a harvest moon to lead the way to you
Gentle touch of fingers along the softness of the skin
A smile that lights more than one can imagine
Doubts fade from your eyes
Allowing you to tease and lighten the soul
A promise that will remain
The troubles of the day diminish
Paradise in a stolen moment
Grabbed between glances over the voices of others
A place for you to belong without the burden of old
Step forward leave it all behind
Standing now strong and resilient
As the wall comes down
