I was tired of listening to the Shadow. He made me tired. Was he really capable of such witchcraft? Ten years had she been gone. She was the only one who understood me. I only had one mask, the mask of the reverend. I could be nothing else and no else else. Life held nothing for me. Only her. The 1st year that she was gone, I thought I had gone completely crazy. I could find nothing in the House. I could not remember stuff I put in my pocket. I got lost going to Church. Eternal Gates, what a name? What was eternal? Things changed all the time. Parents had different values than their kids. Every 30 years or so, a new generation wanting to change the world for their own good. Only Christ was eternal. Only love was eternal. But no matter how much I tried and no matter how much I prayed, I could not love these gay, bisexual, or transgender people. They were sinners. They were sexually deviant. In the Old Testament, they were burned to death. In the New Testament, Paul taught that homosexuality was a sin.
