Walk in my shoes

i wish you could
take a moment to walk in my shoes
and then your understand me
you think I'm ok
but I'm not
you don't see what I see
what going on with you and me
oh there use to be love
i use to be the only one on your mind
you use to see me and hold me
but that not the case anymore
you come in at night
and barely kiss my cheek
i think you forgot about me
you just sit down and eat
then you grab the remote
and watch something on tv
i think you forgot about me
was there love
in this case, i think you forgot about me
night after night i want you to hold me
and never let me go
we like robots
just acting this life
I want to be more then
just the person who
cook and cleans
and iron your shirt at night
take a moment and walk in my shoes
and your see what I feel
oh i wish there was wishing well
i could drop a penny in it
and some magic would be there
and you see what I feel
oh i wish you could
just for a moment walk in my shoes
and see what i see and feel
i wonder do you still love me
or did we lose it long ago
i just don't know

It’s a sad state of being to wait for someone to see inside your thoughts; I think we're better served when we speak our thoughts out loud and let the truth fall where it may. Your poem was effective in projecting the loss of love and the mundane life a couple can fall into if they don't try to recapture their love every day and silent acceptance can be a lonely place to dwell. It is a thought provoking poem.
