A) Diary Entry 1

I'm a little unsure as to what to write. It is strange, because I am
intending to write a diary entry, and in doing this I will be putting
my innermost thoughts and feelings out for all to see on the Internet.
This exposes me while also not exposing me as when one is on the
Internet one is 'in cognito'. I could be anyone.

I say my name is Tariq Smith, yet it could just as easily be George
Brown or Anne Hill.

But I am Tariq. I am a fifteen year old boy who lives in a small town
in Scotland. From my first name anyone reading this will have guessed I
am of Asian background, yet my last name indicates Western background.
I am a bit of both.

Today I am on study leave from school so I can revise for my Standard
Grade exams. They aren't very hard, I am enjoying them actually.

I don't like being at home very much. Dad is.

This is hard.

Dad is drunk. He is drunk a lot. I hate it because he gets angry
and

he hurts me and mum

It's a release, somehow, saying that. I feel better. But also a little
scared, because it is possible that dad will read this.

I don't think he will, though, he doesn't use the computer much.
