The ocean that's known as emotion

Far down the road from happiness
There lies a deep dark ocean
Which people have come to love &;amp; hate
Its name, they call it emotion
The waves above that crash about
are dangerous &;amp; fatal
They do not make a noise but one
Which sounds like sloshing from a soup ladle
The clouds in the heavens thicken so
With a terrifying storm
Destroy all those who venture on it
Representing the heart being torn
There are very few survivors
That live to tell the tale
Of how they nearly took their own lives
Before the thrashing gale
And yet this ocean is not all bad
As you may have perceived
The World is not all sad &;amp; woeful
Through all the times you've grieved
Across the other side of the outstretched odyssey
The waves lie cool &;amp; calm
The Sun glows mellow with beaches, white,
With no commotion or alarm
The birds are all exotic
Love, hope &;amp; cheer
Their feathers bright &;amp; colourful
And they sing all round the year
The sky is a crisp, clear blue
Lined with trees with fruit that's ripe
Every shade you could imagine
In any flavour that you'd like
And why is it I tell you this;
To expect what to avoid
And which side of the ocean to be on
In pain or fruitful joy
And when you set sail on this perilous sea
This vast expansive ocean
Just watch for the love &;amp; pain
Those things they call emotions
