Strange dreams of past lives

I had a recurring dream as a child ,that I have a brother and that we live together in Celtic times.

We explore the ruins the rural landscape and village together.

One day an accident occurred to spoil our Eden ,he fell from a cliff to his death and I jump after him to join him in the afterlife as was the Celtic way.

 

The dream then jumps forward centuries. With the two of us burning to death in a church sometime in the 1960s this dream that I had as a child probably about 6 or 7 years old, I have never spoken of it to anyone until writing it down now but it seems like a strange dream for a child to have.I am a rationalist but it does make me wonder such a vivid dream.

Freud suggested dreams are symbols. Not sure what that means either.

I can't say I have dreams of past lives but of the future yes. Most haven't come true. My dad said he had nightmares of a WW2 spitfire pilot dogfights and dambusters and that, I was very sceptical. Maybe he made it up he was usually drunk. Must say yours do sound very tragic.
