The Spirit Of Peace Is The Eternal Victor

Silence shall always have the final word; silence and those gentle sounds like bird song and the trickling stream which Nature makes.
Have trust in peace; the eternal sea which all the warring worlds and nations cannot hope to destroy. They are merely the restless, wailing infants that time will put to sleep and that sleep will be an eternal slumber; an unbreachable grip of stillness and all their faces that are warped and torn by anger will be made unseen by the ever conquering veil.
The body of gentle, noble, quiet beauty is immense. Look up! All you miniscule generals and soldiers upon the battlefield, that mar this precious earth with the blood of your brothers and their children. Look up and see the giant that is above you. What are you and all your ant-like skirmishes against the regiment of stars and the ageless immortal of night. Into that darkness you will go and forever but we peaceful people we are part of this universe’s light.
Trust too that gentle beauty shall ever prevail and that the bright flowers that are our brethren shall bloom when war itself is lying in a grave.
Look up, all the friends of tranquillity, at the dark clouds which struggle in vain to hide the moon and the stars; they cannot and nor can thunderstorm or hurricane or war defeat the spirit of peace; for peace, like water cannot be broken by fist or stone.
We forget though, how little we are. We forget to look up and count the number of stars. We weigh up our lives wrongly; seeing more darkness than light; seeing the blemish and not the shining face beneath; remembering our hours of grieving and not the years of quietness and bliss.
Darkness cannot ever rule the Earth; it can only blind us to the truth which is the unceasing victory of light but when we weigh up this world correctly we find a thing which is mostly made of hope and goodness.
They only continue to war who have no idea of the power of peace but every day its spirit continues to prevail and, as Jesus said, ultimately, it is the gentle that inherit the earth.
