Why is it that most people find the vast universe a dull topic of conversation but themselves (or the lives of other people) fascinating? The human race is obsessed with itself and it is very hard for those few that don’t share that obsession and would rather look up at the stars instead.

Thanks, Scratch. I've often been asked by people, "Why don't you write about real life?" to which I usually reply, "I write about Nature. That's real life, isn't it?" knowing that to them "Real Life" is synonymous with "Human relationships", the world of work, couples and families, etcetera , but to me "Life" means something much broader than that.
