My younger soul
My younger soul. Excitable and bright,
liable to sorrow from a flash flood,
was surrounded by dark that dimmed my light.
Sharp words and acts yearned the drip of my blood.
Drawn together from shattered lives, two souls,
trick one another with fictitious glow.
Fantasy fades and reveals different goals.
Again my soul fell low, with fear to grow.
Then the fog shifted. I found my dear heart;
he found his. Luminous and Enchanting,
Wise, Inspired and Steady. A brand new start.
Pain had latched on, he untangled the string.
The past frost still does turn my mind to ice;
his glow thaws. I’m flut’ring to paradise.
