There is chill in the air. Cold breeze is blowing outside and I am in my room trying to write a journal page. Long time I wrote one.
After these two lines I want a break. Thoughts and words are playing hide and seek in my mind. But I’m unable to put them down.
A short tea break Water is boiling and so are my thoughts. And now my tea is poured out in the cup. Biscuits, I love them with tea. In my pensive mood, I love to dip my biscuit in the tea and enjoy the melting taste. Yes, here is my Sunfeast Glucose biscuit, sweet and tasty. I’ll open the new Dilmah Tea packet my son got from Sri Lanka and fill this empty jar - Sri Lankan tea for my next cup later on. Dilmah reminds me of Cricket. As far as I remember, Dilmah is the official sponsor of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team. Got a lead. So much controversy in the on going cricket series between India and Australia. I’ll leave cricket aside for another journal page. Today I’m in no mood to write about cricket.
My mood is straying. Why not make some cheese balls and put them in hot sugar syrup. Mouthwatering sweet dish -you know, these are known as Rosogolla’s. I promise I’ll make some rosogolla’s sometime later today or maybe I’ll make Payesh (rice boiled in milk that is reduced to 1\4th quantity) with special (gur) date palm jaggery. Enjoy food in winter is my thought of this season.
Soon the woolies will go into hiding. They will get the Genteel wash, and the fragrance of the liquid soap will be buried in the box along with the sweaters. Another couple of weeks and winter will be washed up with the sweaters as they get the soft rub and scrub of my hands and spread out in the open to dry. At times I wonder if there wouldn’t have been the different seasons, what would the days of the year be like. I think this is a very childish thought and needs no weight age.
Already January has traveled its halfway mark. Making rapid progress and I want to make the best use of my days. I would love to start writing my journals regularly – not only writing but letting the mind work out with my thoughts.
The Indian automobile industry has added a new feather to its cap. The Tata’s have come up with the ‘Tata Nano’, the world’s smallest car.
As I sit back and juggle with words, I nudge my thoughts and say, ‘Hey, this is high time I write a cookery book’. This thought has been wandering in my mind and today I had the guts to make it public. Again I feel I’m joking – in two minds. My Ma always said, “You can never sail in two boats at the same time”. O.K. taking time off to decide about writing my Cook Book, and, you decide if you want to buy it once it is printed.
I leave you here with a cheerful note.
