Here I am, all alone
on no. 16 Solitude Avenue
Sitting and dreaming
all about a life with you
Just to pass the time
I wander down the streets
imagining you are still mine
When there you are
Standing in front of me
We shake hands
and then you’re off
I am left standing quite solitary
You turn around and then I see
who gets your attention
and it’s not me.
On no. 16 Solitude Avenue.
I walk home
leave the door open
Maybe you will come by
And I will no longer be alone
but share my love
with the one I wish to be my own
You don’t come and I am wracked
with jealousy
The object of your love
is not me
I grab a bottle to drown my sorrow
Another day on no.16 Solitude Avenue
Maybe tomorrow
I will always dream of you

I loved that song, Pia and shall have it on my brain all day now;-) Such a poignant picture you paint here with your poem, but beautiful all the same. Tina

Thank you very much Tina ;) Unfortunately I don't think it is an unordinary way of life for some. Yes I love "Gentle on my mind" as well even if it did lose as bit in the translation into danish by the singer but then I translated it again- ha ha been around a couple of times then. Thanks a lot for reading and commenting ;)PIa

Hi Pia You are really good at writing from the heart, it's not an easy thing to do. As Tina says, this is a picture painted with words, that are poignant, but beautiful aswell. Jenny.

Thanks for telling me
