Not being heard
Your joy
Falls on deaf ears
Eventually you stop
As the joy
Turns to pain
When there is no echo
Just a wall that absorbs
Not being heard
Your pain
Will not be heard
Why open your mouth
As to open it costs
Energy that would build
A thousand iron bridges
Across desert plain
Not being heard
Is a crime
For which the only punishment
Is death of the speaker
Just a little bit
Day by day
The heart dies
Till it folds on itself twisted
Listening
Gives the power of life
Validates
People crave to be heard
Let them know there is meaning
In their words
That they have not lived in vain
That they are not alone
