Today I think of the people who can’t bear the sight of you
Whilst I mount your picture on my wall
Today I think of the people that would find it unbearable
That face, those eyes, they couldn’t take it at all
I marvel at the suddenness
Find myself lost in semblances of moments of it all
You are gone but your pictures
Litter the highway of the web, interwoven over countries and time zones
You are staring back at it all
Almost as though you were here and there and everywhere, somehow within it all
That picture on my wall,
So suddenly becomes forlorn
So I delete it, remove it, unfriend and unfollow it all
Say a final prayer and close myself to it all
For the sake of those who knew you
And can’t bear the sight of you
I shall un-mount the picture on my wall
And they can see you as you were
When they want to and are not forced to, stare at the picture on my wall.
