there's a reason that emotion

has a "motion" as its tail

it's said that we are "moved"

when we're inclined to laugh or wail

pretending to be logical

alas, we're full of beans

in God we trust...it seems we're just

emotional machines

there's a dash of melancholy

never jolly for too long

its said we are "removed"

when we have ceased to be among

advancing biologically

our dreams defend the means

when troubles call...we are just all

emotional machines

there's a reason our sensations

are not nations that we rule

it's said we are "unmoved"

when one can't budge a stubborn mule

a breast of insecurity

in which one never weans

a hidden scar...that's what we are

emotional machines
