This a favorite poem of mine written by the fabulous Bee.
Wings of Silence
by Bee
In the days of dance and laughter
in the echo of a breeze
the dreams we hurried after
were caught with such great ease
Your eyes were bright with sunlight
while my face shone like a moon
and a thousand plans by starlight
drifted by like clouds too soon
In a blaze of burning passion
in an overflowing stream
time that knows no ration
was two lovers perfect dream
And we never even noticed
a world where others stand
till the dreams slipped by all broken
into agitated sand
On the fallen wings of silence
two strangers shattered hearts
fear untethered words of violence
as the final hope departs
Like an old forgotten picture -
hidden, lost, or thrown away
with the visions of forever
we did not foresee this day
With a stab of bitter sorrow
two grieving souls then part
When there is no love to borrow
why do the tears still smart?
It's the days of lonely hunger
that fill the heart with pain
when the weary grow no younger
where's the strength to try again?

Oh my goodness, Rich. You've
Oh my goodness, Rich! You've made me feel so proud. That sounded seriously beautiful - loved your melody and the chords, and the talking bit... Well you have to have a genuine American accent to carry it off, and you did.
Thank you - you made my day.
