A poem for Samuel - aged 3
We couldn't find her for ever so long
When Grandma came on the train
We were waiting along side the track
And she was stood in the rain
First we went to a very big church
To look at some fancy trees
My best one was hung with tiny cars
And beer cans were chosen by she.
We later went to listen to songs
The Snowman and another one
About some fairies and nuts and things
I liked when they played the drum.
We went outside and sat on a bench
A sausage I had and a drink
But Daddy had forgot to put my coat in
Grandma was worried I think.
When we got home we had a game
I played on my broom cum guitar
She clapped and said how good I was
I wish her house wasn't so far
After supper which I didn't eat
We had to watch the TV
Strictly was on, it's always on
But it sure wasn't chosen by me.
Next day we got dressed very quick
Cuz Daddy and Sanna and lots
Were dressing up as Santa Claus
And dashing around very fast.
First we went to have a treat
Croissants and cocoa - it's true
Then off they went looking very red
And we found a good place to view.
Lots and lots of Santas ran by
Some were babies and dogs
Finally they came by where we stood
It really was taking them long.
We changed our places to see them once more
But now it was pouring down rain
We found a place which meant we were dry
They were soaked when we saw them again.
Finally they finished and got medals to wear
And bright golden coins for a treat
Sanna let me have some of those
I do like chocolate to eat.
Then Mummy and Grandma went off to shop
Daddy needed dry clothes and hair
So we went to his office and he let me go
Around and around on the chairs.
We went out for pizza which I do love
Sanna's plate was as big as a bed.
Then back to the train and Grandma went home
“See you soon” is what she said.
