Frost and Sun

Scratchy trees denuded,
some still ginger-clad, others full red-berried     –
stand framed upon a pale blue dome
with sunshine glint, and,
as the sun shifts higher in the sky
their frosty shadows shrink.

thanks, Elsie. This was from lovely views on a frosty day travelling on Tuesday, and my husband mentioned something about the 'frosty shadows' still under the trees, ie where the sun hadn't reached yet, and I liked the phrase and realised how they were shrinking! Rhiannon
