dud²

 

i am a dud

 

you’re a dud too

hands greasy

with wasted time

 

our out-of-season hopes

draped dusty and closed down

 

come and make miniatures with me

our own private declaration

of duds

 

we can watch them flourish

 

appreciate the rising warmth

of knowing

 

that actually

in the end

we weren’t duds

 

just took us a while to shine

Hi,

I liked the simplicity of this. There's hopelessness to begin with and the feeling of being a dud, but near the end the sun breaks through and you weren't 'duds' after all, just took you time to shine!!! Maybe that happens to a lot of people.
