Valentine

My love if I could
I would bring for you
all that is good and fair;
I would capture all the
stars from the heavens,
so that I may lay them
as lights for your feet.
And my love if I could
I would for you buy all
the jewels in the world:
diamonds rubies and pearls
sapphires amethysts emeralds;
all these to name but a few.
And while it’s true that
jewellery loves you that is
not what you are asking for;
for what it is that you value,
what it is that I can give you
is just one simple thing:
a heart that is true.
And so, my love on this our
Valentines day I can say
that for all that I am
I give entirely to you.

That is such a good reminder,
That is such a good reminder, and also for our concern in the ordinary friendships of life that real friendship and love shows itself in opening of heart and time, and being true. Rhiannon

In Bulgaria we don't have St
In Bulgaria we don't have St Valentine. On 14 February we celebrate the day of St Trifon Zarazan, the saint for vine growers and wine makers.
Trifon Zarazan doesn't fit easily into the lines of a poem so I won't attempt to write one. Instead I'll read yours and congratulate you on your fine words.
