Here I Am. By MarciaMarcia

Here I am...arrived, they say at an age some call old.
Yet I feel young like a child most times, touched by what I see and feel of my life, its people, and all its many waiting possibilities.
From infancy to now, I have run through fields of flowers and chased butterflies by day and lightening bugs by night, listened to the trees and leaves while traveling such amazing paths; climbed hills and even mountains which I never thought I would be able to negotiate but managed to do so, better for the challenges these put before me.
I must admit that I was given a gift at birth, for which I have always been grateful; able to capture through making art, all I see and feel and imagine ; the colors of light, the darkness when illumination dims and disappears; to feel the winds and breezes, rains warm in spring and cold, snow flaked and wind blown ice in a stormy winter. I’ve know coldness and dryness and unbearable heat. I’ve immersed in the soothing ,magical ,floating ,swirling, powerful, yet gently strange world of the sea; wandered and wondered beneath its surface tasting and feeling its salty life, always wanting to go deeper, and deeper still, within it so as to experience its hidden treasures which reside in its great beneath, and then in my studio, try and recapture what my experiences have given me.
Emerging from this womb like water, flashes light sparks and my body knows again the gifts of breath and sight, feelings, while tasting the freshest air, hearing the gull’s above the ebb and flow of water rhythms, whale’s calls and crashing waves.
I feel young, my feet drawing pictures in the sand, as I walk the shore’s edge, looking at the abundance of smooth vibrantly colored sea pebbles, which glisten beneath the water’s surface catching the sun’s light.
And I am here, feeling young.
I know who I am and where I have been and all that i have done, these many many years, so far and all that I may still do.
And I am grateful.

Lovely to have noticing eyes
Lovely to have noticing eyes and mind to see beauty and the interest of variations in everything around all the time. Do you use your observations in artwork as well as writing and enjoyment of thought? Rhiannon

A sensitive, hopeful, life
A sensitive, hopeful, life-affirming piece from our ever-creative Marcia. Beautiful! Life's "waiting possibilities" are all around us. We only have to stand still long enough and open our eyes and minds. You have a great gift for turning your sensations and experiences into works of art - on the canvas and on the written page.
