Arthur Ashe. Sunday's Coming.

I grew up with one telly in the living room. All the family together, watching it. We all watched the Boxing live, on a Saturday we watched the wrestling together. We watched Olga Korbut, Cassius Clay, who were household names. There was no such thing as recording, pause or playing it back to an hour, like I can do today.
Every year there was one sport we all watched together, it was just fabulous. That was two weeks in the year, in the Summer.
There were SO many great players back then. One of my favourites, his name was Authur Ashe. He was good looking, quiet, professional, a Champion.
In this two weeks, great champions came and went, all skilled and talented.
Out of these two weeks, just two became my all-time favourites.
The fabulous Steffi Graf and the passionate and very funny John McEnroe.
This Thursday to Monday it is my turn to be with my Mum, she had dementia. Sunday is usually Columbo Day! But I know, that it will be the Men’s Singles Final.
I have not watched any of the tennis, as I don’t know anyone, so I have no interest in it.
I will be watching it with Mum this Sunday and we will both enjoy it, neither of us will know who is playing, unless it is the champion who has won it a ton of times! We all know his name.
For me, it is Quality Time, with Mum. Rest in Peace, Arthur Ashe.

good style
Well done, good style Max, postponing, and each time building up a little bit of tension, and then, yes it was tennis all the time! But before then it was the radio cozy in the living room, that was really pleasant family time! Doing your homework after school on the carpet with the serial stories on, good old days. Chess and Rummy, Roger Whitakker and Louis Armstrong, Jett Jungle, Black Cat
