Eloquence

Perusing the culture section
In the public library
Boy is gonna get wise
It's a big world out there
and he wants to open his eyes
He read about Italian Art
For a minute or two
Then stared out of the window
Looking at the birds
He didn't like Italian Art
Because there wasn't enough words
So he switched to British History
But that didn't last
What's the point of living in the past
He skipped the shelves of science, physics and maths
Because none of them give you laughs
The centre of learning left him yearning
He found a book with blank pages
And took a trip through the ages
Using his imagination he enjoyed his self
His mind was his book that didn't have dust on a shelf

Great poem! As a bit of a writer myself I did find myself agreeing with the direction of your poem, although I suppose it is worth learning a few things before we write too much.
