Is America Coming Here? (Sleepwalkers?) by rogue reporter Alfred N.Muggins

      Alfred was beginning to think it was time to go to America to actually buy some guns, for his own self defence! The political and social noose was definitely getting tighter, by the minute. A few days before Charlie Kirk, a supposedly religious right wing rabble rouser (and millionaire also! (billionaire?)) had been shot and killed at a student campus free debate meeting in Republican Morman Utah, in front of a large audience and plenty of cameras and phone cameras.
      Speculation mushroomed exponentially over social media and traditional media. Within an hour of the crime the preprepared rabble rouser of a President in the White House was already ready with his spiel of hatred and blame, blasting fire from his mouth at his political opponents on the left, not just the 'militant' left, but the whole of the Democrat Party, and more than half of the population, as if there had been enough of an investigation yet, to determine anything at all. Unless perhaps, that is, he knew something nobody else did?
      Charlie Kirk had said it was alright to have a gun, or even a few guns, but he wasn't carrying one when his killer shot him from a rooftop 200 yards away, and it wouldn't have done him any good if he had had one.
      Anyway, after a couple of days of grand speculation they said they had found him - the culprit. In actual fact they didn't find him, but he had apparently confessed to his father, and his father handed him in, dutifully, like every good godfearing Republican parent should. Immediately the MAGAs and Republicans of various shades started to recalculate (recalibrate?) their blame (aim?)!
       Perhaps this young 22 year old from a good Republican family had turned to the Dark Side, sorry the Left side? Could he have been a closet transexual or polluted with left wing logic? (Well it had to be asked did it not!) Anyway, whatever the young man's motive, it was not likely the general public, and watching citizens of the whole world would ever be told the full story.
      It took many years after the shootings of John F.Kennedy in 1963, or his brother Robert Kennedy in 1968, or indeed that great social reformer and Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King in 1967 (not to be confused with his even more famous namesake Martin Luther, the world changing Protestant monk 500 years before!) for the truths to come out, quietly so most people didn't even notice, but they were never, as far as he remembered, ever properly proved, so they were left with alternative theories and possibilities and probabilities. Alfred remained convinced so far that this young man might well have been put up to it by Trump's people, or perhaps even the very gun happy (these days, or missile and drone happy) Israelis, as even religious Kirk had recently been criticising or questioning their role in the Epstein file blackmail projects, whether there had been a complete stand down of Israel's defences on purpose on 7th of October 2023, and possibly questioning why so much American money was going over to Israel, and maybe even why their was such an extensive trail of blood from the bombed out buildings and sniper-ridden corridors of Gaza's ruins to the pockets of the American taxpayer. Maybe the Israeli government may not have liked to hear such doubts about their missions from someone fairly important or influential in Trumpenstein's MAGA movement? Perhaps they or even Trumpenstein himself thought it was time to make a martyr of him before his doubts became too well known. Alfred wouldn't have put it past either Trumpenstein or Netanyahoo to see the political advantages of making an influential and surprisingly popular MAGA martyr, and perhaps try to blame it on opponents.
     Perhaps Alfred really is digressing, just a conspiracy theory too far, and should avoid making Kirk's mistake, but once the idea was there it wouldn't easily go away. Perhaps the young 22 year old was following orders or maybe he just pretended to be the actual marksman? Probably there would never be any way of proving such a suggestion now, as the FBI had probably had many of its most experienced brains and leaders purged by the incoming Regime, and was no longer independent in its investigations or pronouncements.
    Just three days later, there was a major demonstration against Immigration and the loss of British culture in London, back home in Britain (the mother country!), while the Charlie Kirk assassination speculation continued exponentially, and different political sympathies looked for different explanations. Some on the right, egged on by the rabblerouser of a President, tried to blame the Assassination on the Democrats or the 'left', while the left observed that there had been a lot more right wing violence and threats against Democrats and 'liberals' than from the 'left', according to an AI generated summary he had seen. It seemed that only AI could now be trusted to give a fair answer to such a question in the polarised political climate of current America!
    (Perhaps a good suggestion would be to one day whisper in the Demagogueic President Trumpenstein's ear, when he was in a good mood of course, and see if they could persuade him to give up his power to a completely neutral AI computer which then would be able to manage America in a totally even handed, unbiased way for the greater good, without interventions of corruption, greed or  wokeness. (Thus the swamp could be finally and once and for all be drained!) Alfred felt sure at that moment that even Elon himself, the tamperer of elections, would have embraced this logical and scientific compromise to take the violence and partisanship out of American politics once and for all, so they could concentrate upon making America truly Great once again! How could this fail to seem reasonable to such a champion of logic and science? Trumpenstein might value the chance to play even more golf and perhaps be induced to accept if he was to be awarded a complete pardon for all the crimes he had most likely committed and contained in (and out of!) the Epstein files, and would finally be allowed to relax and slow down, indeed to chill out for once, as Alfred did not believe the guy had ever chilled out for more than a moment in his whole busy and tumultuous life.)
    Anyway, as we all surely know, Alfred does digress, (rather a lot), and in this case power is unlikely to be so easily given up.
    The far(?) right demonstrations took place in London 13th September 2025 British and England flags, in opposition to excessive immigration and the channel boat crossings. It was well attended by at least 100,000 people, Elon Musk even spoke, apparently out of turn, giving his blessing to discord and revolution, poking his boyish South African nose into British politics, where he does not reside or have much direct understanding/knowledge/experience! At least Alfred thought he was occupying himself with something else than sacking hardworking American Government workers without notice, from useful occupations, or fixing computerised election results for his comrade in the destruction of America, Adolph Trumpenstein, for whom he had fixed an American throne, in return for state contracts and reduced governmental oversight upon his many businesses. Now it seemed his tentacles were reaching towards independent, still democratic Britain, ripe for the plundering, evidently. Tommy Robinson with his English Defence League background, and apparent original sponsoring by Israeli interests had organised these demonstrations which appealed to a broad swathe of discontented British people. Alfred thinks there will soon be a coup of some sort even in 'dyed in the wool' democratic old England, sorry Britain, whether electoral, or martial law etc, or at least some electoral computer fraud and gerrymandering. What happens in the US usually arrives in Britain a week or two later, (or maybe a year or two later?) following the Gulf Stream and lots of business takeovers! If it could happen with hurricanes, then maybe it could happen with right wing politics! The writing seemed already to be in the wings! and next week Donald Trumpenstein himself, their Lord and Master, was due to come himself in person to visit Prime Minister and King Charles (and Queen Camilla of course!)
Alfred dare not go to America in person so begins to wonder whether it night be easier to have the guns smuggled to him in Britain after all. Anyway there was bound to be a massive reciprocal tariff on American guns, unless you were Israeli or maybe even Russian. Perhaps he would be better forgetting the guns and just training in martial arts for self protection. Maybe the key to safety is not to get too famous. Keep your head down, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing! Perhaps it was just as well that facebook wouldn't share his posts too widely. There was safety in being an unknown writer. maybe he wasn't fated to become famous, after all, and maybe that was just as well?
Perhaps he should follow his wife, Mrs Muggins' advice, and find a rock to hide under, and completely eschew politics and social comment altogether, while the right wing business interests finish privatising and monopolising everything including the NHS, and detention centres get expanded. He feared the cancellation of workers rights to holidays more than anything, because he was well aware that most Americans don't get any or hardly, but perhaps he would be safely retired before it all came in and he would eventually die without having to worry about any of it.
