I just listened to a voicemail from my mama:  Thaddeus Jack, if you don't call me back in the next ten minutes I'm gonna drive down to Florida myself and kick your uppity butt till hell won't have it again!  This is your mama!  You need to speak to me.  

In my defense I was at work.  I work two jobs.  I don't know why she thinks I have hella time to monitor my phone.  I did call her.  The emergency was that she would be in Virginia for Thanksgiving and God forbid I didn't know that.

Hey, my girl, she was just threatening.  She doesn't drive on highways.  I even told her:  you're full of shit.  You couldn't drive down to Florida if your life depended on it.  She said, like she always does when I am vulgar:  Don't say shit.  I love you.

I meant this to be a blog.  Well, whatever.  Hey, RH, yes, my mama cares.  She got married super young and had kids late and I think that's why sometimes she cares too much.

Sometimes mothers get overwhelmed with worry when a child is far away and we think they might be unhappy. Must be really hard not to be nearer to you, even if she's not sure she can help

DH, darling honey, you've broken my heart.  But it needed breaking.  I never thought about how it must be for mama..  She can't help me.  Damn it.
