Just one cornetto

Two words describe
many kiddies' dream:
the first one is ice,
the second is cream.
When joined together,
they become ice cream.
Some say it's delicious,
others that it is supreme.
Throughout summer,
and in winter sometimes,
we can hear Mr.Whippy's
harmonious chimes.
The children will hold,
in their tiny hands,
a gelato that's sprinkled
with hundred and thousands.
It may be one cornetto
or perhaps a ninety-nine,
but whatever they choose
it will be just fine.
It doesn't really matter
what the flavour is;
whether cherry or vanilla,
the taste will be bliss.

Ice cream is universally
Ice cream is universally loved Luigi and your poem shows that. We have ‘Mr. Softee’ ice cream trucks and they play the ear-worm song that brings children out to buy the cold, creamy delight.
Ah,such lovely memories of childhood summers. Thank you. ![]()

What a colour! I remember I
What a colour! I remember I think some little school mmibus outing when one boy at a stop bought a green ice cream, and others, feeling slightly travel queasy weren't very happy to see it!
I often wonder how popular the Mr Whippy tune is with mothers!
Nicely worked little poem. Rhiannon
