Sitting in an English Garden, not waiting for the sun to shine, for the sun has been here all day and they are all in the middle of, or coming towards the end of, a heatwave, which has been here all week! Cheers to the French and the Spaniards for letting us have some of their heatwave, This is global warming, breaking records for the time of year and levels.
While the World Cup is on in Canada, Mexico, and the United (??) States, despite Alfred's grave reservations as to whether anyone would be brave enough (or rich enough!) to go, from Europe (or South America, or the middle east, or Africa?) Even the Iranian team turned up to play, despite Trump and the Israelis having waged a destructive war against their nation only a couple of months before, and not being covered by a proper Signed Sealed and Delivered Peace Treaty as yet!
Of course, if the Peace Treaty did, even in advance, actually have Trumpy's signature on it it would probably be very unlikely to stick, as Trump had proved himself well by now, to be a man whose words and his ink generally had a very short shelf life. Alfred would have thought that either his word or his ink would be a strong sign, coming from such an untrustworthy man, that it would be very likely to be broken some time very soon. That was even if he did, by some amazing feat of bullying or some outburst of unlikely rationality, Trumpy was able to persuade his erstwhile ally and comrade in international crimes, and in crimes against democracy, puppeteer Netanyahoo, that the Israelis should actually pull out of Southern Lebanon once again, and stop destroying all those towns, villages, houses, and hospitals (not to mention many of the people that lived in them), which had become their normal modus operandi in recent times, as well as often in the past.
They were a sticky bunch to do deals with too, but Alfred didn't wish to be accused of anti-semitism so he thought he had better say no more at this juncture in time, and keep his head down, beneath the parapet. (In actual 'fact' it appeared that Israelis were being a lot more anti-semitic to Palestinians and Lebanese people than Arabs were being towards Jewish people at the moment. Perhaps it was a bit tit for tat and they were all being anti-semitic towards each other?!)
Anyway, perhaps the Israelis should actually listen to Trumpy's actual occasional borrowed words or thoughts of wisdom, when he suggested they might be making things a lot worse for themselves if they didn't pull out of Lebanon and assist a wider Peace treaty with Iran?
Anyway perhaps Alfred digresses a bit too much, as not many supposedly normal people wish to listen to history lessons about the middle east for too long, even if it is topical. Many of them would rather talk about the World Cup or where their next holiday is going to be, or something nice about America, without having to think about whether it is going bust, or is about to enter a phase of serious unemployment or water and food shortages, or whether the people's medical bills really will become so high that they won't actually be able to afford enough medical insurance to actually be covered for all the really serious illnesses which could actually kill them, or whether they might be arrested and incarcerated at the airport if they travel anywhere, or whether they had got themselves (and half the middle east, and even old European allies!), into a War they might never be able to stop, or reach a Deal for a proper Peace, or be able to pay for.

Has Alfred seen the latest
Has Alfred seen the latest World Cup news today ? Private investors will buy into the World Cup money making machine (for such it has become). Footballing countries will be bribed to vote for this. And the whole thing will be managed by a company run by somebody called Kushner (sounds familiar ?) part of the wider Trumpy family.

The situation in Iran remains
The situation in Iran remains a mess. The situation with the World Cup remains a mess. The situation in Gaza remains a mess. What have all these things got in common? More accurately, who have all these situations got in common? Hmmmm.....
