Yakima Canutt is the most fabled of stuntmen. Early in his career, he played villains in John Wayne oater serial flicks. This led to a situation in which, when doubling for Wayne, Canutt ended up pursuing himself.
In one scene, he as the villain was supposed to be driving the stage coach but because he was doubling for Duke, he was also the hero who was coming up over the back of the stage off his horse to get the villain who was driving the stage who was supposed to be him.
They couldn't find anybody that day to double for Canutt who was doubling for Wayne when Wayne said 'I'll drive the stage'.
So now you've got Canutt doubling for Wayne and Wayne doubling for Canutt.
In other words the guy climbing on the coach from the back is sneaking up on himself being played by another guy while the other guy driving the stage is about to be attacked by himself as portrayed by another guy.
Somehow the whole thing reminds me of the executive and legislative branches of government except more productive
