Well who else but a brickie would lay down a house for you
with blisters on his blisters and a back near broke in two.
The homes we buy and sell
and the others that people let,
are mixed in brick and mortar
with barrows of brickies sweat.
You've got to get the lead out
if you want to get ahead,
today the go is copper and the waters soft instead .
Its a plumbers plight all right
digging down in ditches deep,
putting in the sewerage pipes and fixing a dripping leak.
Many hands make light work but a sparkie brings it inside ,
through wires of many colours on a one way ticket ride.
Bless the brickies,
sparks and the plumbers well skilled at their trades,
for if not for people like these
we'd have to live in caves .
