Heady Potion

You say I am like creeping ivy
curling twirling my way into your core
entwining the tendrils of untrammelled outreach
into your softest recesses
till you are completely cocooned in my embrace
helpless victim to an innocent ambush
I breathe the barest whisper into your ear
sweet nothings with no rhyme or reason
pounding only a rhythm that flows into
the deep down rumble of untapped desire
your hidden jungle tom tom that unsettles and aches
till you writhe and fail to squirm out of my touch
You call me voodoo woman and melt like chocolate
under the hot spell of my gaze upon nothing
but the curve of the bone above your chest
You buckle simply from my pouted parted lips
which mouth no more than commonalities
that shouldn't seduce but somehow do
You accuse me as passion virus
unleashing a forever fever
heady potion and poison to your overheated blood
So you long to draw mine
sink the fangs of your ardour
into the jugular of my unintentioned heart
