Friendship lost to hardship

We used to sit there
on cold mornings
when the grass
was crisp with frost,
and you'd tell me
that your bum had gone numb,
we'd sit there
on the hottest days
just sunning ourselves
and talking sweet nothings,
I remember once
my lips had began to freeze
and you saw,
so you kissed them,
and my heart melted.
I remember the day you told me,
you'd no tears in your eyes
and a smile on your face,
you said that you hadn't wasted a second
of the past years,
that you would take each one
as a memory, with you.
I still go there you know
I still sit and talk,
not to anyone, just myself,
but it helps me remember
days of our past
that one time we kissed,
I was always yours from that day on,
I still am.
I can't believe that you're gone
