Letting a Dream Disappear

Leave my cold shoulders to rest in the grass
With my head in the ground as I stare at a cloud
My weakened feet can’t stand up once more
For my road was filled with broken glass
And my hurting feet couldn’t bear to last
Feeling the sharpness of ever cut
Getting deeper and deeper as I walked
Trying to reach a dream at the end of my road
A promised treasure to the ones who’ll be brave enough
To run before time catches up
And white hairs begin to grow
But my feet had been walking for far too long
The sun on my skin begins to burn
The blood I’ve left behind with every step
Don’t longer remind me why I stared in the first place
As I grew tired with the years gone by
And lack of strength in my heart
So, leave my cold shoulders to rest in the grass
With my head in the ground as I stare at a cloud
Forgetting my open wounds are bleeding
And no one is here
Maybe they even forgot I exist
In this big world where everybody has their own road
But still, a part of me wanted someone to rely on
For moments like this
When my fragile body is thrown out of the road
by a single wind blow
Letting my dream disappear like the smoke
Sending these tired hands to rest
And these aching wounds
To silence.

Letting my dream disappear
"Letting my dream disappear like the smoke" Like John Lennon's song, "Let it be".
This is a first-class poem Angelica! Sensitive and touching! Tom
