The sky's darkness, of love 'tis devoid,
the tears of its countless stars fill the sea's void?
Goodbye forever--peace for my tortured existence at last.
In the ocean twilight, E?rendil's star glimmers above the mast.
The sea-salt breeze blesses me as it fills the sails;
Yet even now, at the very end, evil still prevails.
Still I bear the burden, still I feel the spider's sting--
only by leaving you can peace to my weary soul bring.
Eresse?, blessed land of healing, awaits my eyes;
I shall be happy once again; stifle your cries.
Fare thee well, my friends; the black night has been long,
but at the end of this voyage I welcome light of dawn.
