Thin as glass and fragile
My heart, it crumbles beneath you
As you step on the pieces, oblivious
Shattering my soul, intensifying my pain
I try to sweep the pieces under the rug
But your smile makes me
Try to glue it back together
Your touch miraculously mends my heart.
As you place it in your hands, the love
Flows through my viens as fluently as water
As your smile fades and you turn around,
You drop my heart and it bleeds
Your love spilt on the floor.
I stoop down to try to clean the mess
And close my eyes as your lips start to twitch
Continue to throw away the pieces
That still bleed. Thin as glass
And fragile and broken.

Very moving piece. I bet lots of people can relate. I especially enjoyed the lines:
"I try to sweep the pieces under the rug
But your smile makes me
Try to glue it back together"
Loved the poem :)
