Charlotte's Web
Her neural path like crazy paving lay.
The broken, jigsawed mind puzzled me.
Kindness offered and refused by her,
My shattered ego hit a wall.
The glib one-liners that served me well
Met with - well, nothing at all.
Somewhere in a scrambled mind
A sensitive being lay at peace.
It was me who came to interrupt her,
And muddy the waters of her mind.
We stood at odds, Charlotte and I.
Each the antithesis of each other's being.
Her tilted head, her enquiring glance
Confounded me, until at last I took her terms.
I, the conductor had to play her tune, not mine.
The leader must now be led, and tutor, tutee must be.
The sanctimonious teachings of my so-called Mind lay in sheds.
Charlotte's web had humbled me.
To Chalotte, my teacher.
