'Shadows To The Child'

It has been said that the majority of young children tend to view and understand their world from the powerful perspective of colour. Sadly for most though, that ability is lost during childhood and replaced with a blander perspective. Perhaps the world would be a happier and more colourful place if children were not so heavily exposed to the influence of colourblind adults.
'Shadows to the Child’
Shadows
so many shades, colours all new
one child’s world in contrast
halftones fading into horizon’s distance
reborn, they play then come back again
These moments of their life change
just as all childhood shadows do
with the sun, each beam of light seems to
cry out in the dark, as they merge with the rain
