'BIG EYES'

It was the time of night when the light was ‘Twi’.
Stacy was unsure what ‘Twi’ meant, but she had been told that the time in the evening when the sun was just dipping over the Harbor, but the streetlights were not yet lit, was called ‘Twi’ light. Despite the low light, Stacy could see the big eyes staring at her from the bushes, glinting in what little light there was. Now when I say these eyes were big, I don’t just mean larger than usual eyes, I mean these eyes were big. Imagine something big, then double that big thing and add half and you would be halfway toward how big these eyes actually were.
The big eyes stared back. Both Stacy and the big eyes owner seemed frozen to the spot, neither blinking. Stacy wanted to blink, her normal size eyes were starting to prickle and water, but at the same time she did not want to. She did not want to because at this point she did not know who or what the big eyes belonged, and most importantly she did not know if these eyes were friendly or frightening. At this point she had no way of knowing that depending on who you ask at the end of this story, the big eyes owner could be described as both.

It's a good start! Nicely
It's a good start! Nicely paced, a good conversational style, and plenty of interest to keep ones attention. I'd definitely read more - hope you continue with this!
