Interrupted morning

The day started as every other ordinary day. The battle between the daylight and me raged through the morning. The light sneaking round the curtains and through the gap at the top of the door, while I deflected it with my quilt. In the end the daylight always wins and I crawl out of bed.
I dig around in the draw looking for something purple, ‘is that it?’ I ask myself, ‘no, that is blue’ comes the reply. I dress in the gloom hoping not to put an arm through the head or my head through the arm. Half dressed I reach for the curtains and let the daylight in. It gleefully glints off the snatches of silver while I throw myself on the bed. Like a sore loser you may think but I’m just not a morning person.
I grab up my book and disappear to another world for half an hour, though it turns into a whole hour. Up off the bed an hour or more later and the morning, what’s left of it, continues. I now forgive the daylight since it shows off my room at its best.
Further on into the well practiced routine I find myself at the sink and the first unusual thing happens. I turn on the hot tap and as if by magic a tiny black spider appears, no bigger than a small crumb. I warn it to move from the sink as it sits frozen in place. As I continue with the usual ritual the spider gets it’s first drenching and is transformed into a blob of black ink. I then take pity on the poor thing and use the sponge as a temporary wall.
I finish the ritual and mop up the water. However, the spider is in the way and I try to nudge it out of the way with the sponge but can you believe it climbs onto the sponge and sits in a crater. I shake my head go over to the dry window ledge to set the spider free. This isn’t easy though since it clings to the sponge. I shake it a bit and finally it lands on the ledge.
It looks dead though so for some mad reason I blow at it and send it flying backwards into a wooden shell. What had I been thinking! How would I like it if a giant spider came along and blew me away!
Anyway I find the spider later sitting on the wooden shell and I think surely it is dead now. But no! There’s a movement and it’s alive! Back in my room I bounce around in a mixture of feelings but mainly happy. What happened to the spider you ask disappeared to some dark hole to calm its nerves.
