WINTERWOOD
Brittle ground
dark white sullied frost,
capped with sky of similar hue.
A soulless place
of watery shadows
felled from the gruesome giants.
Naked of any appeasing flesh
they are bare
to their very bones.
Rising as from unrestful graves
their gnarled contorted limbs
extend
craving succour
from the barren air.
Unyeilding in fearsome arrogance
they stand.
Magnificent
Immodest
Defiant
In winter's half light
