The beginning is not,

the definition this defining

article imparts sucks the choice

from an infinite indefinite beginning.

Here is a middle.

Is it the middle?

Or the beginning of an end?

This is an end,

the end at the margin,

the end of a line of poetry,

the end of poetry and the world,

this is the end of all and sundry stories.
