Acrobats at Rest

We lounge,

we are N O T “man-spreading”

far from it.

Exhausted by somersets, cartwheels,

walkovers, and headsprings,

we sprawl.

We smoke,

and gossip between schnapps

and pilsener

about the lion tamer, the clowns,

knife throwers, and Gretchen,

we do.

We stretch,

without rising from stools,

or straw bales;

moving without stirring, still

and not still, in yogic poses,

we know.
