God chiseled a message in stone, and planted the stone in the garden. It read: Fresh and unspoiled fruit. Tangy and delicious. Do not touch - if you know what's good for you.
Adam approached the sign and pondered its wisdom.
"Hmmm . . . what is good for me?" said Adam.
Eve, who was reposing ‘neath the shade of an apple tree, contemplated the attractive young man, and beckoned him to come forward.
"Would you care for some of this?" she said. "I know it doesn't look like much, but the way that snake's been sniffing around, there may be something to it."
Adam thought for a moment, and told Eve he would rather go fishing.
"It relaxes me," said Adam.
"Nice pole," said Eve.
"You like it?"
"I do," said Eve. "Can I try it?"
"I don't see the harm in that," said Adam.
Adam strolled into the garden, and showed Eve the proper way to handle a fishing pole.
God, upon seeing such a spectacle, took down his sign and went home.
"What have I done?" said God.
When God arrived home, Mrs. God gave her husband a stern lecture, and sent him to bed without his thunder.
