Pray
Jennifer Pickup, 27.10.2025 for 11.11.2025
Pray for the fallen, and pray for the brave,
Pray for the lives that they managed to save,
Pray for their families, those left behind,
Pray for the peace that you hope they will find.
High on your chest wear your poppy with pride,
A sign that you care for those that have died,
A symbol for all who came home with a loss,
Help lay red wreaths at the foot of the cross.
Pray for the ones that survived and still live,
Pray for those souls that had so much to give,
Pray for their futures, and fill them with hope,
Pray for the strength that will help them to cope.
Stop where you are at eleven a.m.,
And show your respect to each one of them,
You may not want war and wish conflict to cease,
Our lives are owed to those fighting for peace.
Pray for the enemy, pray for your own,
Pray that the innocent safely get home,
Pray for tomorrow, and that it will come,
Pray that one day all war’s over and done.

Quite thoughtful and with a good rhythm, Jennifer.
