THE SLIPPERY SLOPE

It’s a slippery slope
on which we ride and slide and
slide on dreams of long lost lands

like lands we’ve never seen
and dreams we never dreamed
for fear of dreamy scenes
that shadow things we can’t control
like simple minds and rigid lines
spewing whispered wings
and childrens rhymes
