tempest

tempest
i have always loved
an autumn storm
tearing away
the last vicious heat of summer
battering down
excessive socialising
forcing hipsters
back to their sourdough capital
the touch of nature
against my face
deep inside my soul
reanimates and restores
from the first turning leaf
the first laughing gale
the first misted moon
the first fresh hope
safe inside old stone
lights flicker
as i turn within
and welcome
the charging dark
the sweet
and savage
shortness of light
i love a storm
all the more nowadays
for they are not miscreated
with artificial (un)intelligence
nor coughed up
by leechlike algorithms
nor the warped progeny
of celebrity
i love them
for being one
of a few things remaining
that are real

If any weekend's going to
If any weekend's going to 'force hipsters back to their sourdough capital' I reckon it's got to be this one!
I'm not a fan of autumn or storms, but I see your point and I loved this poem - thank you Jupiter
