Charles wowed the crowd
The honorable Charles, reigning constitutional monarch of the United Kingdom and her commonwealth, spoke before a Joint session of the United States Congress today.
Calmy and with great eloquence, Charles reviewed the centuries old linkages of our two nations, whose foundations lay in the democratic principles of Runnymede, occurring some eight centuries past.
His soft delivery of common-sense messages, were about the importance of NATO in the defense of both of our nations, and the rest of the world. He called for unity in defending Ukraine against a common enemy, mentioning the strength of the defensive association was built of the two pillars of strength, Europe and America.
Well over a dozen times, a much-divided two party Congress stood and applauded the quiet reminders of our basic principles and the duty that we all had to our generations yet to come. Many smiled, nodded their heads in agreement to his words, and were genuinely appreciative of his message.
In the quiet and eloquent parlance of his words, I could hear the strength and earthy wisdom of his late Mother, Elizabeth II. He had learned well at his Mother’s side over the last 75 years. I much enjoyed the content of the speech and the gentle yet forceful messages it conveyed.
I can but assure my friends in the UK that Charles made you proud of your heritage today. He reminded the Americans of who and what we collectively are and the principles for which we both stand.
Rock on, Charles. Your message was well delivered.
