A Beaver and a Pig, walking side by side, rummaged through the forest, seeking courtship’s sweet provide. They reached a lake before which lay a Fox with pretty eyes, so they asked her which she’d marry, and which she’d set aside. And the Fox, post-ponder, pointed yonder and said with timorous surmise: “The first to reach the other bank bar swimming wins the prize!” The Pig and Beaver simply stood and exchanged concurring glances, “A trial to sieve the best from good, equal minds and equal chances!” The Beaver rash applied his trade, and tinkered with his craft: he thought to build a palisade and use it as a raft! And as the Beaver gathered wood, the Pig admired his ado, but he played to win and knew he would, and knew exactly what to do. So while the Beaver traded triumph for the solution that he found, the Pig applied his cloven hooves and simply walked around!
