Not Enough Silence

'There's not enough silence' said the din in my ear,
It's a muddle, a mess, causing me stress,
People talk blah and quack in my face
Is there no end to this verbal race.
My ear becomes a shell on the beach of this sound,
The waves never stop, pounding this shell on the ground.
As the days go by, I turn into sand
'cause the noise never stopped, on the shores of this land.
Only one knows my love, for the peace of the night
The girl who I cherish in touch, sound and sight.
She knows of the pain, when I cannot find silence
She knows of the tears, the sweat and the violence.
So I choose my path, alone and apart,
From all of the noise, to find peace in my heart.
There's only one thing I feel I have missed,
The sound of my girl, her touch and her kiss.
