QND ELDR
As the clanging of metal grows closer
I spread the coarse charcoal across my face
I ready my ax to defend honor
I run through the door into a hot blaze
I search for my love as I battle foes
I ready myself for a painful blow
I see my love as I fall down and doze
I hear my loves voice and see his shadow
I feel his breath as he whispers to me
A tear falls as death chooses to enter
I hold death off to tell my love and see
Him as I say one last time “QND ELDR”
"QND ELDR" is a battle cry meaning Breath Fire from the book Sky in the Deep By Adrienne Young.
