Glint of Light

i saw a glint of light
coming from a crack
in the ground

i ran
as fast as i could
to get to it
but it kept moving
slowly
into the distance

i kept running
i was getting hot

i was boiling
sweating

i collapsed in front
of a new town

i was exhausted
